11 litres (about 4 US gallons) of some sort of oil/gas mix were put into the tank of a 2008 Vibe. The car ran for a short time, but will no longer start. My guess is a plugged fuel filter? Any other things to check?Maury

Fouled spark plugs, clogged injectors.Remove a fuel line from the engine area and place the end in a bucket. Turn the key to ON without trying to start the car and wait for the fuel pump to pump all the gas from the tank. Change the fuel filter after it's done, reattach the line, fill with gas w/ injector cleaner (like seafoam) clean the plugs and cross your fingers!!!

Yep, drain clean and hopefully run.Consider yourself lucky. IF you had a diesel and someone put gas in it your problems would be far more severe and hard to fix than a little oil in gasoline ever is!!Count the little blessings along the way.Dave

Lemme guess, you grabbed the wrong gas can at home and grabbed the one for the weed whacker?

I was going to do this test, but couldn't find which line to disconnect. The fuel distribution appears to come in on the right side of the engine via an insulated copper (?) pipe, right? Then it's connected to a short bit of flex, into some sort of controller (is that a throttle body?) and then back out into the distribution system on the engine. Which one is a good one to remove?Maury

Can you disconnect the line that goes directly into the fuel rail?
