I met my mom for lunch and then had some errands to run. On my way from the restaurant to the DMV, I came up to a red light. I was heading west and as I looked ahead to the eastbound lane I saw an '09-'10 Liquid Platinum Metallic GT. As the light changed and I started to drive I was staring right at them to see if they were going to look in my direction so I could give them a . Low and behold... it was an older couple (60s maybe). The guy was driving and he was pointing at me, then when he caught my eye he started waving! I waved back and gave him a big smile! It totally made my day that another Vibe owner finally acknowledged me. Usually they're too busy talking on cell phones or just aren't paying any attention to the other vehicles around them. It made it all the better that it was my twin ! I was so happy after all that that I didn't mind having to wait in line for 15 minutes just to get my mom and dad's license plate stickers at the DMV .

Hi Carrie,That's great to hear! I look forward to having that experience myself (but it ain't happened yet ...).I know there is at least one twin of mine around here ... I saw it in a parking lot about 6 months ago ... maybe I'll eventually see it driving around.

As much as I do my daily obsessive-compulsive "V" flashing to every Vibe I see, that has only happened to me once- a lady with a 1st gen Abyss that I always see driving in my zip code. (TONS of Vibes in my area and entire zip code) I'll catch 'em all eventually LOL. I've met Brent, the owner of my Neptune's twin in my complex, and a 1st gen Platinum owner who is already registered here. I still have a wave blue, a dual-spoilered salsa across the street, and 1st gen 2-tone Neptune and 2-tone Lava on the next street to catch. hahaaa

Awesome! Glad when someone else is excited about their car.I still try to get people's attention and wave... though sometimes I forget and do it when I'm in Chris's car... lol...

This happened to me spontaneously when I first got my 2003 Vibe. I was pulling out of a gas station in my Neptune Vibe and another guy was pulling in in a Satellite Vibe. He saw me and started waving and honking his horn! I honked mine back--It was neat but the first and only time that happened.

I finally had an acknowledgement! But that's all I could call it.Sitting at a large intersection, waiting to turn left at a light, we saw an '09/'10 Ultra White GT sitting in the lane to the left, waiting to go ahead.As we turned left, right in front of this 30-something guy, my wife and I waved, and I gave him a "V" for Vibe sign. He was looking right at us as we turned, but all he did was continue to look - no smile, no wave, not even a nod. I still find it hard to understand how someone would drive a newer car like that, and seemingly not care about other similar cars. Does the guy not think his Vibe is cool, or what?

I have come to the conclusion that the majority of Vibe owners (who aren't on GV) couldn't care less what they, or anyone else, are driving and thus... I have decided they all suck . But I will continue to wave and throw up the V for Vibe at them if for nothing other than my own amusement !

Amen!It seems we have a very select group here. I'm really happy that I found such a great "support group" as Genvibe!!!

Heck yeah! Same here! I still smile when I think about how much fun we all had in Indy! I definitely hope we can do it again next year, but with even more members and Vibes!

Never thought of flashing a "V" before.. I'm going to try it.I used to give a little wave now and then to Vibes, but they are so common in Ottawa, most people don't care. The last 2-3 years, I only proactively acknowledge Salsa Two-Tones, or Vibes that are clearly enthusiast owned (i.e. modified). I usually get some nice interaction from a Salsa TT.There's a girl around my age with a 03-04 TT salsa GT who parks near my office a lot.. we've exchanged smiles and a "nice car" or two.

I am always waving but never get anything from it. o well

I flashed the "V" to another Viber the other day, and they acknowledged me (but they probably thought I was just some weirdo)!

I just recently moved to a town with a population with around 66K.. quite a few Vibes.. and I have seen 2 other 09-10 Vibe GT's on the campus parking lot.. I never get a wave.. but I'm thinking of leaving a note recommending this site!I never get waves either..

I see lots of old people (60's +) and 20 something (well-to-do) ladies putting around in there 09-10's... Nothing more the a glance...Have yet to meet Jennie... seen her car around...perhaps I need some BIG emblems like high revin has!!!

i've never seen another 03-08 GT around here. i drive all over NC up and down I-40 and have never seen another one. only 2 two tone 03's but they weren't GT's
