thanks =] I actually had about 19 more payments to go but since I've saved enough I'd rather pay off the car so I don't spend it on useless things haha

That's awesome! Our surplus money has to go to paying down credit cards (six grand) our new windows (nine grand) and our business lawyer (four grand)..... but the cars are definitely next on the list when we win the lottery!

I'm trying to get debt free, I've already paid off few credit cards and got two more to go. Hopefully in a few months I'll be debt free =D so far the car was the biggest debt but kinda glad that's out of the way.

Paid off two big credit cards this year (most of our business startup costs) and next year's tax return should wipe out the Vibe payment as well.

Congrats!!My husband informed me a few weeks ago that he wants my car paid off by the end of the year!! I've been paying extra on it each month, but not much extra. He just got a job (teacher, has been laid off for past year) so now we're going to continue to try and live with less so we can get the car paid off and save up for a really good down payment for a house! It's so exciting to have more coming in than going out each month.

Congrats !Still have a little more than 40 payments to go on mine. I paying extra each month as well. I hope that the car is paid for in about 2 years. This is my goal.

Congratulations! I only have 56 more payments to go . I got screwed because I traded in my Sunfire which I still owed money on, but the Vibe was well worth it and I plan on literally driving it until it falls apart so I will get my money's worth out of it for sure.

Congrats! Must be a nice feeling. We have about 30 payments left. Most likely will be paid off early. But only to buy another vehicle (Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander perhaps?) I'd like to save and avoid the loan route but houses cost money and mortgages don't pay themselves. Next loan will be maximum 24 months however. 36 payments is driving me nuts.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead. But... My 2009 Vibe 1SC is officialy mine since this PM !!!Bought it on Friday March 13 2009 with a 6 years loan. Now today after only 2 years and almost 4 months I paid the last 1913$ I still owed to the bank. Woohoo !On the other hand, my Vibe hit the 49000 km mark on my way back home. Dealer visit since new : 0 (except the recall from Toyota and oil changes...).

Now I am saving for a condo.Though, I almost traded the Vibe this spring for a Terrain or Equinox. The dealer called me as they were looking for used Vibe for their customers. The offer was very nice but since I don't have any issues and I like it, why not keep it ?
