Video:
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/offroadx/ ... ash.mpgThe story is, the boyfriend wanted to prove to his girlfriend that it was safe to drive. So he drove it a few times and heated up the brakes. Now the the girlfriend gained confidence that it could be done, she took the wheel of the now tired Chevy. The brakes failed and its simply amazing that she managed to keep that thing on the trail where it finally crashed into the soft sand.Pics of the trail:

Ya, I remember seeing that on TV. Could have been much, much worse! Too bad they didn't have some in-car video on that one....would have loved to hear the soundtrack at least.

I remember seeing this on REAL TV. Scary stuff. I hope I'm not offending anyone when I say the people who do this kind of stuff are some insane, suicidal morons. But that's just my opinion.

One could say the same thing for people who race on a track. In fact, I would guess than these types of off-road accidents happen far less frequently than accidents at the track.I would say that 95% of off-road accidents happen at less than 10 mph. (hitting a rock, or taking a bad line and rolling over.)

People who race for a living are trained though... or have done it for many many years.
