Im torn, I don't konw if I should:1) get the ram-air hood2) do a carbon fiber hood w/ the center left un-painted (e.g. the center of the hood, the area between the "power bludges" would be bare carbon fiber)currnetly Im leaning towards option 2 (but I've changed my mind a few times already)

the ram hood is cool, but i dont see spending over $500 for it. i might consider it if my current hood was damaged.

As bad a$$ as the RAM air hood looks, how could you NOT go with it? Just my 2 cents.Jim

I wish SLP would make a different styled Ram Air hood. I just don't like the design they currently have. Either a hood scoop ala the ones on Subaru WRXs, or I really like the one on the GT-R Vibe on the other pages of this website. If they had something like that, I'd for sure consider saving up my $$$ for one :D

2 cent? try 100,000 cent. that hood with the ram air kit shipped is about 850$.. plus paint, your pushing close to a grand or more.

Carbon fiber. SLP looks good, but if you have a CAI, you get more power from that then the RA, so you're only getting it for looks. So, why not go carbon?

Personally, even if I had a CAI, I would still get the RAM air hood and just not actually connect it to the intake. That way, I would still have the extra power of the CAI but the awesome look of the RA hood.Jim

Ram air looks more OEM. Carbon fiber (unpainted) more like a "serious" racer. Carbon fiber.

But I'm not sure if you get any performance gains from it...or if you do, they're negligible.Nova -- can you confirm this?

However, I doubt there is any significant gain from the R/A hood. If anything it's from the slightly lighter weight, not the R/A effect.I didn't want the hood for any performance gain, I just like the "factory appearing" look for the scoops. The Grand Prix SLP hood uses the exact same scoops. What I like is a customized look that doesn't look customized. The wheels, hood and even emblems I added to the car look as if they came from the factory.

well again I've changd my mind (leaning towards the SLP hood now). PLus I can get it for 100 buck off, thru the dealer I bought mine from and they are cutting me a break on labor. The one bodyshop guy really wants to "do-up" a vibe (FYI: I live next door to the delaership who is also my landlord). Hehehe It pays to be a good tenantD-oh! I can't decide so I'm gonna go w/ the bodykit for now and wait a week or two. I was trying to get it all done b4 a show on the 27th.

I hate the term 'ricer'!! I didnt think I'd hear it on this board since it's a 'Rice burner' we're driving. Define ricer. You put 19" rims on your Vibe. That can be termed a ricer. You put a RA hood on your car. That can be termed ricer. CAI....ricer. Body kit? Ricer! Neons? Ricer!! Who gives a flying rats (removed) (That doesnt sound right cleaned up, but oh well!)?! It's what you want to put on your ride. Oops! Ride can be termed as a ricer term! AH!!!!
