Swapping out the 5 speed for a 6 speed this weekend. Anyone have a picture or can describe the shift pattern for the 6 speed? Probably gonna buy an aftermarket shift knob to replace the 5 speed knob.I can pretty much guess the number pattern but uncertain of where the reverse position is:1 up and left2 down and left3 up and middle4 down and middle5 up and right6 down and rightR = ???Thanks - Mike

let me know how this goes, my 5 sp trans is on its way out and I'm also wanting to do the 6sp swap very soon (I can get a 6sp trans for cheaper anyway)IIRC, reverse on the 6 speeds is even more left-er and up

done your swap yet?I'm still having to do this soon. I found a used 6sp transmission, but don't want to buy it yet until I know it works for sure

I found a used 6sp transmission, but don't want to buy it yet until I know it works for sure Have it all torn apart. Just got the flywheel back from having it re-surfaced. Will start putting things back together this week. Not looking forward to stabbing the 6 speed onto the engine. When taking the 5 speed out, things got a little dicey with my floor jack and the cradle I made from 2x4's etc. Definately going to be a 2 person job stabbing the trans onto the engine....
