Opps I ran a red light and didn't even realized that I did until I got the letter in the mail saturday. My first real ticket ever. At least my husband thought it was funny as hell. He said I was bound to get a ticket one day to even out all the ones he has gotten. Atleast my car looked pretty in the pictures and videos. The sad part is I never run red lights I always stop slow down for yellow lights. I don't know where my mind was that day. Oh I remember now trying to concentrate with a screaming 3yr old in the back seat because her brother were being well whats the word for it BOYS. They were picking on her. And it was very hard to concentrate with all the stuff going on in the back seat. Usually I drowned it out. But I was having one of thoses days. Have any of you ever gotten one of those red light tickets in the mail.

Sorry about your ticket but count yourself LUCKY you didn't have an accident!!!I was at a light on Rt 10 in NJ when my side turned green to turn left and this Optimum OnLine truck, a huge cable truck with a trailer came SCREAMING through the intersection with wheels locked up!!! Clouds of blue smoke doing very little to slow the truck down!!I'm really glad I looked before going but the look on the passengers face in the truck was priceless!! Sheer terror! I can only imagine what kind of words were coming out of his mouth directed at the driver!!!It could have been a major accident with loss of life most likely.Drive more aware of your surroundings, even with little kids in the back seat, yes, I know what it's like, been there, done that, now have four new little ones (grandchildren) that I only have on occasion.Dave

Sucks about the ticket, but I'm glad you didn't get in an accident while running the red light. I'm sure everybody has ran a red light at some point in time.No tickets for me running red lights. There aren't cameras here to catch those things.

I ran a red light in the city once (not downtown, but technically Chicago proper). Normal traffic lights are overhead, with supplements to the right or left side.... this one ONLY had a light off to the right side, behind a tree. I realized there was a light after I passed it - couldn't even see it!

They make stuff in a spray can that you spray on the plates that makes them reflective.. So when the camera takes the picture, it can't see it, it just glares.. thus.. not ticket! YES!..

lucky about not having an accident for sureI was going to say I never have had a red light ticket, but I stand corrected. I was late going to a comedy show in downtown Chicago and I did a turn on a yellow light (short yellows in the city, SUPER LONG yellows in the 'burbs where I live) I was going about ~30 in the turn and saw the flash. My response looked something like $@%! but with words. The Vibe pulled the turn nicely even at 30mph (that's impressive considering the smallness of city streets)

I've never gotten a red light ticket, but I've received multiple radar camera tickets (Germany) over the years...nothing like seeing the camera flash as you trip it. Of course, getting a speeding ticket in Germany is much better than America, as it's not reported to your insurance company. That said, I recently got my first American (Oregon) speeding ticket in over a ten years: 74 in a 55 while driving a POS Charger R/T rental to Cannon Beach. I was breaking the law, but I was also in a pack of cars all going ~75...so I suspect the trooper picked me because of the half-dozen prominently placed bar code stickers all over the windows. I sure hope Astoria put that $190 to good use...

Blew thru a Easy Pass lane on the Walt Whitman Bridge without haven a pass . The wife got the fine since the Trans Sport was in her name/lol !!! Most of the cars are cause I hate doing the paper work. We were on our way to Carlisle Pa for another get together with another forum I belong to. The all GM nationals.

Here in Toledo (actually Northwood Ohio) I got nailed by one of those and surprisingly the quality of the camera was VERY clear. I was turning left on a red light with NO ONE else in sight but there was green for traffic going straight. This particular intersection doesn't even have high traffic volume like most intersections with cameras. Antways, didn't have a clue of this offense until MY WIFE got the mail a week or so later, then she gave me hell It only set me back $105.00 which from what I'm told is rather affordable comared to other states around the country. I just have to be more careful

A valuable lesson learned. Now I routinely make sure I pack snow & ice all over the rear plate everytime I leave the driveway where it is below freezing. This gives me a bit of peace of mind in the event I were to committ this crime in the future

I'm just glad I wasn't in a accident and that it doesn't go against my licences. Sorry it's taken me a day or to respond back to this post. Been crazy busy moving funiture around in all the rooms. Husband says I can't do it by myself boy is he going to be sorry when he gets home friday. Nobody tells the women in my family they can't do a certain thing. Because when they say that it makes us do it even faster.
