Engine and tranny swap?

hey guys, I have a 2003 with the 1.8L VVT-I and i was thinking of swapping it with an other engine and manual tranny(so changing from auto to manual)? You guys have any engines and trannys ideas that would be good? Thanks!

The 2zz-ge and 6 speed from the GT would be a direct swap...

I heard that it means that i have to change the computer and part of the center console and so on?

Computer yes, but I don't see why the console would need too much reworking

If you have an auto then yes you will have to modify the centre console only to be able to house the new shifter assembly. But you will most likely be able to do this NP if you research it all first to ensure that you have all of the required parts/computers.My BF & i have completed similar swap with his GrandAm, Auto swap to manual. For this we required the following ;( this is what we needed, may or may not be required 4 VIBE )- 5spd Transmission - mounts - sub frame-Flywheel/clutch - master/slave cylinders - -shifter assembly with cables/linkage - Pedals- clutch & brake-ECU for manual tranny (matching year)All of the parts we got from a scrap yard and had a few "mickey mouses" with wiring the reverse lights and a neutral safety bypass but she works great.
