Received an e-mail saying the $1,000 buy, $500 lease bonus incentives for orphan Pontiac owners end 7-6-10. Excluded are the hot sellers Chevy [should I say "Chevrolet"?] Equinox and Buick Terrain. [How cheap - what could it have cost them to allow use on those models?]I am not in the market anyway so it doesn't mean anything to me. My 2009 1.8 L automatic got right at 33 mpg on a 1,350 mile round trip to NC last week - about 125 of that in town, a few traffic hold ups on the interstate, pushing 70 most of the remaining time with a/c also. OD kicking in on many of the hills on the WVa turnpike. The gas is "up to" 10% ethanol of course which also cuts mpg a little compared to EPA estimates. That itself is a ripoff. If the govt. is going to insist on diluting our gas with ethanol then the EPA numbers ought to be based on that fuel. Lowering my speed by 10 mph would probably save fuel but add at least an hour to the one way 10 hour driving time. Brakes worked well when encountering 3 young deer crossing the road near Lancaster, Ohio.

What a joke, in those offers Like that "minute" amount of savings is really going to motivate us to go out and buy what FEW GM cars are available anymore (can you tell I'm still bitter of them dumping Pontiac). Anyways what happened to the $2000 & up offers ??? Guess they would rather sell FEWER cars and make more profit on them! Market share doesn't mean JACK anymore (what are they thinking). Soon another FOREIGN car maker will invade the streets where a domestic auto used to be

Those 3 small deer just leisurely sauntered across the road totally oblivious to the busy highway.

Well, we many never again see the motor vehicle deals that were offered in the not too distant past. My last four new cars purchases ['03 Vibe, '04 T&C, '07 T&C, '09 Vibe} were motivated by prices too low to resist, particularly so with the last two purchases. Unless I total something I don't expect to be buying anything new until perhaps 2016.
