03 Vibe possible timing chain problem

Hello all my neice has a 03 potiac vibe, she was driving down the highway when the car lost all power, I towed the vehicle to my house and started trying to diagnose the problem. The car will turn over and the pistons are moving but I checked the compression on the 1st and 2nd cyl and there was 0 compression. I don't know allot about this motor other than it is a dual overhead cam setup is it possible that he timing chain came off and also does anyone know if these motors are 0 tolorance motors so when the timing chain jumps it damages the pistons and valves. I will be pulling the motor apart on sunday to see if the cams are moving but if anyone has any info that would be great, or even some pages out of a repair manual for replacing timming chain.Thanks
