Pins for shield?

Hi everyone,I acquired a 2003 Vibe back in the fall. During the winter it was the victim of someone sliding and smashing into the drivers front side while it was parked out in a large parking lot. Never found out who did it. Long story short, there were some scratches, dents, and cracks to the front bumper, but lights, etc., work fine. After a recent little road trip I noticed a plastic grinding noise when I topped around 75. I slowed down the rest of the trip, and noticed last night that the plastic shield in front of the wheel and the shield that wraps around under the engine was extremely loose. My guess is once I topped a certain speed it hit against the tire which made a visible worn hole in the front shield. Going under the car I noticed that there was no pins (I'm assuming that's what they are) holding the drivers side or passengers side shield under the engine. With that wobbling loose, it looks like it makes the tire shield also wobble. I was able to sort of fasten it for now with a bolt, washers, and nut. But, I think it would be best to figure out how to really fasten this shield back into place.Since I know absolutely nothing about cars I have no idea what parts I am looking at nonetheless what fastens them. My guess is a pin anchor of some sort. I really hope someone knows what the heck I am talking about. I'll try to take some pictures once the torrential rain ends out there. Thanks in advance for all and any help/advice!
