Has anyone connected a flash drive with mp3's to the AUX button using an aux adapter (for example GM12-AUXv2)? If so, can you control the flash drive with the radio buttons, e.g. rdm, folder, search (using station dial), volume, etc?'07 Vibe, M&T, single CD-XM

This is a wild guess, but I don't think you would be able to directly connect a flash drive into the aux connector. The aux connector is most likely an analog-only signal input, and would not have the necessary hardware or software to communicate with a flash drive or decode the files you have stored on it. You would need to find a device (like an MP3 player) that can decode songs from a memory device and play them out through an audio port.

Greetings fellow Florida Viber, shrout1 is correct, you would be unable to control the flash drive with the radio buttons, you wouldn't even be able to control it with radio buttons even if it were a MP3 player.... it simply acts like a pair of head phones.

The MP3 player is very useful on it since it has an SD card slot plus I can pair it to my cellphone using bluetooth. But no, I cannot control the device using the radio buttons. The GM12 is only an RCA input that "emulates" an auxiliary device connected behind the radio. To switch to AUX with the GM12-AUXv2 module you need to press the BAND button to switch FM1 FM2 AM AUX1 AUX2 (where AUX1 and AUX2 are the same)I seriously doubt that the stock radio can control an AUX device but you could buy a new mount from
http://www.mountguys.com to have your device easily at hand reach.

Thanks for the feedback. I was afraid I would get bad news, but that's why I ask the pros. I wouldn't mind putting in an aftermarket HU, if I could find one that had a non-glare display. Seems the only option I have to solve that problem is to get a DVD display. That would be ok if they weren't so costly.I guess I'll just have to buy a new car.
