Has been awhile - went out to Stone Mountain Park - there was a public bus to get there. A historic plantation was reconstructed on that site .Of course Atlanta now has perhaps the best aquarium in the country. I want to go there just to see that.

Aquarium is awesome! We also enjoyed doing the Coca-Cola thing while we were there, and went to the CNN tour as well.

A few thoughts:• The Art Museum if there are any good exhibits going on.• Little Five Points (very unique shops/restaurants, fun to walk around)• Atlanta Braves Game• Morehouse/Spellman/Clark Atlanta/Morris Brown (HBCU Schools, all connected)-if there are any band events or step shows going on• Nice MLK Jr. statue / I have a Dream Speech engraved near Morehouse bookstore• Decent nightlife, depends what you are into• Old magnolia tree reportedly behind a whole foods market (downtown?), used to be in the outfield of a ballpark where negro league clubs (i.e. Atlanta Black Crackers) would barnstorm against famous MLB players. Supposedly, Babe Ruth hit a ball off the tree some 500+ feet out in center field.

Since I live here everything is "normal" for me.Gotta go to the World's Largest Drive In .. The Varsity. The Coca Cola museum. You'll be staying across from Centenial Park.Haven't been to Underground Atlanta in years so I have no idea what it is like now.If you can get into or tour The Fox Theater. It is just dropped jaw (removed) to see especially the inside.Don't know if they are having the laser shows at Stone Mountain yet, if so, you have gotta go.The blue domed spaceship of the Hyatt Atlanta was the tallest building in town when I moved here. The Westin Peachtree Hotel was the world's tallest poured concrete structure. Most buildings are steel framed. This was poured all the way to the top and glass on the outside. Of course they have the rotating resturaunt on top.Mary Mac's Tea Room is a great eatery.Like pizza? Try Mellow Mushroom. Great pizza and sandwiches. For more tip and happenings, pickup a free copy of Crative Loafing.Of course, "Google Is Your Friend" to find about some of these items.Have a safe trip...both ways.

Best advice: get back on the plane and go somewhere else!!! Atlanta consitantly gets voted as the most boring city in America, and rightfully so.
