Ok their is a wiring harness for the 6 speaker system (Moons and tunes package) here is a link with the part number...
http://www.matrixvibe.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=371 That should save you from splicing every wire and possibly ruining your audio.

That's the only reason I mentioned it because I figured they may have different connectors since they are different designs. I haven't pulled mine out yet to compare.

I've got the in-dash six disc changer w/ the moons and tunes package in a base Vibe. It is definitely an available option.

I have an aftermarket stereo in mine. The smaller of the 2 plugs you just leave hang. U just go to the local car stereo store and buy the wiring harness.

Hey guys, thanks for all your help. I got the right wiring harness. Ends up it's the same one that i used in my Tracker. It's metra part 70-2003. The little plug just stays disconnect in the dashboard. The only thing i've noticed is i'm getting a little bit of a hiss in the background, and that it seemed to sound better with the factory headunit. The headunit i'm using now is a Sony Xplod Mp3 unit.

http://www.autotoys.com .Please do put up a webpage, this info is incredibly valuable!Another member (ullbergm) said he may be able to work up a "tech-tip" type web page if we can't get one here on the forum. I know on most forums, there's a usually a page that's devoted to "how-to" mods that are very helpful that members can post to. That would be nice on this forum.Thanks,Carl....FROM

IMHO, if anyone dies, it'll be Sirius. XM is a bit more $$$, but their programming is much more varied and it's just flat out better. But I haven't heard ANYTHING about XM having any financial issues...have you?

Yeah, who wants to pay for the radio? Especially with the emergence of internet sharing file companies like Kazaa. It may be "big" in other areas of the country, but I doubt in the Midwest! I heard about their financial problems awhile back.....

The headunit i'm using now is a Sony Xplod Mp3 unit. When adding a aftermarket HU to a Vibe with Moon & Tunes don't use the high level outputs. it is too much power going into the amp. I hooked Cathy's HU up this way originally and got a ton of hiss and with the volume knob half way up it was at and unbearable volume already. The solution is to use the RCA outputs on the HU. Just grab a cheap RCA patch cord and cut off the ends and wire them to the speaker inputs going to the amp (the outside shield is negative, inside positive). And the hiss will dissapear and the volume control will be much more reasonable. (I wasn't bright enough to figure this out myself, so thanks John! )Oh... and as far as XM... don't worry it will be around for a long time. While money has been a little tight, things are definitely on the right track... subscriptions are steady and on the rise. For anyone who says "whats the point", I wish I could put you in a car with it for a week and let ya experience how nice it is to have 101 channels of anything you could want to hear and material you wouldn't have even thought to look for (but enjoy). BTW.. I currently have 2 XM units and Cathy has 1.

Yeah i thought about wiring the speaker connections thru the RCA outputs. And the headunit has a front and rear RCA output so that i would be able to fade front and rear. But i also have an amp and the 10" sub that i wanted to hook up and that also connects to the RCA output. I would much rather be able to by-pass the Vibe's built in amp under the seat. But that would probably be a mission too! I don't know, i'll have to think about it. Maybe i can some how wire the amp for my sub and the factory speakers thru the RCA outputs. I just don't wanna wire multiple speakers to one RCA output. I'll make a post as soon as i figure it out. But if anybody has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated!

I am running it into my Pioneer DEH5500 HU, and it sounds really good. Took a 2800 mile road trip in May with the Corvette, and having XM on that trip was awesome. I like the ability to move the Delphi XM reciever between cars, and the home, while only having to pay a single subscription fee. If you are only ever going to use it in one car, and not at home, the Pioneer XM reciever and control unit would probably make for a cleaner install.

Thanks for the info! I am about to buy a HU for my Vibe as well and now I know if I have a hissing problem it can be fixed easily. As far as the Vibe with the M&T package you CAN get the 6 disc but you can't get the DVD with it.Shadow Realm
