Both my AAA insurance and the State of Michigan call it a wagon. I call all vehicles that look like wagons wagons. All SUV's are station wagons, as far as I'm concerned. We gotta remember we're in the age of double-speak. I remember when Buick assembly line inspectors were called inspectors, and then when the assembly plant became known as Buick City, we suddenly found ourselves referred to as "Customer Satisfaction Facilitators." Silly.

How about calling the Vibe a car and calling a SUV a trucK?Wagon makes me think of: And Vibes are quite a bit better looking than that!

Other than the wheels, I'd love an old wagon like that!

I just call it a 5-door hatchback (to distinguish from 3-door hatchbacks)

I've heard the term small crossover wagon used to describe the first gen Vibe. The second gen is a little more like a 5 door hatch or a sports wagon. This would be a car...

friends and such will call mine a wagon. i say it's a hatchback. it's the same length as a car, just instead of having the back drop and form a trunk it's all cabin space. actually, my car in the shortest in the driveway. the minivan and buick are both longer. oh well, while both of those are bulky, mine is nimble. i guess it's a sport hatchback car of awesome?

The OHIO title for my 2009 says "Vibe 4dr sedan".I really don't know what my insurance company calls it as the policy only says "Pont Vibe".I think "wagon" makes sense - the nerdier the name the lower the insurance premium.I think my 2001 PT Cruiser was classified as a "truck". Had something to do with how they calculated the CAFE.

On my Missouri registration it says Body type: STAWWhich im guessing stands for station wagon..

You could build a car and make it a "truck" if the rear seat could be taken out. Chrysler did this to help it meet the Cafe fuel mileage standards for trucks. You can take the rear seats out of the Pt Cruiser, so it became a truck, instead of a retro looking delivery van/wagon type vehicle. The Vibe is really a cross over wagon. I Googled cross-over vehicles and guess what I found?????Ta-da! Even looks familiar to me, somehow!
