the fact that someone smashed off my mirror and knocked in the front fender in a lot, that they didn't leave a note, or that they took the mirror as well? My poor Vibe! Does anyone know how much a mirror replacement would cost - going through the insurance is just not worth it.

mirror right- $120.17mirror left- $117.78gmpartsdirect. looks like they come pre painted you just choose the color but, what about your front fender? Aren't you going to fix that too? Its an 09 you don't want to go driving around a nice new car with body damage! Do you!!?yeah my insurance has a $500 deductible on damage. I had to use it once from a little fender bender that cost $1300. Lame.

One time at school when my then-boyfriend-now-husband was visiting me, someone went up and down the street where he was parked and smashed every single side view mirror on every single car that was on the street. We think they just walked down the street with a baseball bat or something, for fun. Awesome.

oh man. that sucks. depending on how close to a building you were parked, there might be video.happened to me when i just got my vibe. i parked, went into the drugstore, and whoever was parked next to me turned their wheel to quick when the pulled out and dented my driver side door. went to a paintless dent removal place.check a local junkyard for a mirror. that will be a bunch cheaper.good luck.

thanks for the info on replacing the mirror vibedrivermatt, and for everyone else's sympathy.to your point about the dent, I took it to a "neighborhood guy" and he got about 90% of the dent out (I still see it, but it looks a lot better than it did) - I just wrapped the rest of the car in bubble wrap to protect it.I think I am still ticked off the most by the fact they actually took the mirror...some people are just amazing

I am always amazed what some people will do to others. Sorry to hear about the damage. There are a lot of dunderheads out there roaming around and you never know when they will strike!

Depending if you have an '03-'08 you can use Toyota parts. They're exactly the same as the GM parts but priced in the neighborhood of 50% - 65% cheaper. That's what I did when I needed a new trim piece for my driver's side door. Cost $23 through Toyota while GM wanted $55 for the same part. You have an '09 though which means you can't do that but the trade off is your parts are cheaper through GM. You can get those mirrors through gmpartsdirect.com for about $75 a pop + shipping. They're not hard to put on either. Had someone involuntarily remove my driver side mirror once with my Grand Am. Was remarkably easy to replace. As for the fender, eh, idk, without a pic to see I can't say. If it's bad enough you'd probably want your insurance to fix it - body work is expensive and what looks like a little damage can actually be much, much more.

Post pictures of the damage - it may be worth going through the insurance if the fender is damaged also.

Have you priced out a front fender? May not be that much? It would just be bolt off old and bolt on new.

still working on getting the mirror from gmpartsdirect-they wont answer if I need the mirror and casing, or just mirror (I know it sounds dumb, but I cant tell if the "mirror" includes the casing)Priced it out at dealer- $325. Got the fender "undented" for now - I havent priced out because I was scared to find out how much - I have insurance for a real issue, not just for some MF, so I didnt want to go that route (although it is a relatively new car).
