Disable all alarms?

Hi folks,I've searched but was unable to find a satisfactory answer. My situation is somewhat unique.I use my car for my business, which is wildlife-related. I use it at very low speeds on back roads...and often need to exit the vehicle quickly, QUIETLY and unobtrusively. Which means I need to quickly shut off the vehicle and have NO alarms when I open the door and leave it open. Yes, I leave the key in the ignition when it's on "ON" because ripping out my ring of keys and throwing it on the dash is noisy. (And I always have a spare key in my pocket, just in case.)In my Jeep Cherokee, I simply physically removed the buzzer. What can I do in my 2007 Vibe to accomplish silence? Thanks, everyone! I start research again in 10 days and need to fix this problem.

The buzzer is soldered on to the rear of the gauge cluster. You might be able to add something to the buzzer to muffle the sound, or perhaps desolder and remove the buzzer all together.. Risky messing with the cluster though, the mileage is stored within and if it is damaged and you have to replace it you'll have an incorrect odometer reading.

The bigger black thing just right of center by the bottom in this picture is the buzzer. It's really easy to access it and not too intrusive, but like CP said, if you mess something else up with the cluster, then you are kinda screwed.

If leaving the door open with the keys in the ignition is your only concern, you could try disconnecting the door sensor so the car doesn't know your door is open. Unlike the buzzer though, this could have an effect on other things... like the domelight or courtesy lights not turning on when you open the door.
