I know the M&T amp is 200W peak (roughly) , but what about its RMS rating? Is there a formula to convert peak wattage to RMS?

No formula.... Basically a peak output is an if or when lightning strikes. They can advertise any number they want, much like the aftermarket. The difference is that reputable aftermarket companies also comply with CEA ratings and list the actual RMS and under what conditions. Normaly the aftermarket companies will rate the peak x2 the RMS to keep it believable, but you will never see it as it don't exist. If you wanted to guess at the RMS of the factory system you would divide the Peak by 2, but in actuality you are only going to see 7-11 watts per channel or maybe 50 watts total RMS.Aron

LOL.....7-11 RMS??? I can understand the marketing stragedy behind posting peak & not RMS. 200 watts versus 11 watts on the packaging.
