Installed new Headunit, now no sound

I installed a new JVC headunit (JVC-KD-HDR20) and now none of my speakers work. I accounted for all the speakers when I was splicing the wires but Crutchfield didn't send me anything for the 2nd plug I pulled out of the rear of my radio (8 hole black plug with four wires in it). My questions are:1) What is that plug for?2) Could it have any bearing on my speakers not working?I have the six speaker setup in a 2004 Vibe. Any help would be appreciated.

Is that a moon & tunes package?Take a look at the first sticky'd post about the Moon & Tunes Aftermarket HU install. That helped me fix my problem when I put an aftermarket HU in my 2005.

I'm honestly not sure if it is or not. How do I tell?

I don't think they added the moon & tunes package (with sub) till '05... so the post I was talking about earlier might not help you out like I thought. Sorry

The radio drives the amp, the amp drives the speakers. I don't remember which wire is amp turn on, but perhaps the info in http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=31372 or http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...o.gif will help you identify it.That's one possible cause, there's got to be others.

I'm pretty sure that it is. Just have to find out how to connect them. The new head unit did come with the remote wiring just need to find out where to hook it into on.

your going to need a line conversion.PAC-OEM or Scoschesee the sticky at the top of this page.BTW:the second plug that is left behind from the aftermarket HU install isn't used. No need to worry about it.

The new headunit has a blue/white remote lead wire, do I still need a line conversion?

I forget the details, something like the new HU overdrives the amp input, resulting in distorted audio.

Problem fixed. The Crutchfield harness didn't have the amp remote wire but they did include a loose red wire which I just inserted into the harness at the #15 spot and after crimping presto - everything worked. I did get the hissing sound at zero volume but the HU has adjustable amp output and I set it to low - the hiss is still there but it's ok for me.
