So I was browsing a matrix forum and I see this:
http://i39.tinypic.com/34ipb1j.jpgIt appears that Toyota will offer a gas pedal replacement instead of the reenforcement bar.Does anyone know if GM is offering similar notice in the form of a TSB, etc??

so you would still get a CTS pedal, but only AFTER having the metal reinforcement put into the OEM pedal. I have not noticed any change after getting my metal bar put in. My car still slams into telephone poles at high rates of speed just like before

Well, according to that letter notice from Toyota is a complete gas pedal replacement and looks like no re-enforcement is added on, so that would mean is a new design.... Is likely better than the re-enforcement add-on...

agreed. But the letter seems to mandate that you have to try the metal bar fix first. Then if you are still not satisfied, they give you a whole new car, er, uh, I mean a different pedal.

This has been discussed in the recall thread last month but unfortunatly GM announced no plan to offer this to Vibe owners and when I questionned my dealer last month about this they hadn't even heard of it.
