Vibe is paid off

Our 2003 Vibe is paid off, we bought it used in Nov 06 with 80K miles for around ~9K and just paid it off early this weekend, along with my 15 year old student loans, and all our CC's. Even have money in the bank.Of course, first baby is on the way so financial prosperity should be short lived Already got a booster seat for when baby gets a little older and for the newborn months we got a combo car-seat/stroller setup with 2 bases for 2 cars.Feels good to have the Vibe paid off, now I can start looking for another newer car to replace the 95 (!!!) Neon.

The best part is since all the finances are handled by my wife, it's relatively painless for me Outside of restraining myself as best as possible when it comes to spending, which is where most people go horribly wrong. I can have the whole conversation in my head without her around, so it saves her a lot of trouble :DMaybe my allowance will go up now

It's a nice feeling.. no payment. Keep the Neon as long as you can! It's almost an antique and you know what happens to the value of antiques! Congrats on the coming baby!

Doesn't it feel good to OWN something all to yourself? Great job handling your money wisely and keep up those SMART financial habits. With an expanding family on the way (congrats on that one also) you'll really be tested when it comes to money & the temptation that surrounds it My last car loan was on a 2003 Trailblazer which I paid off in early 2006. I then disciplined myself to continue an "imaginary" car payment of $424, which I paid myself and put it into a separate savings account, and then after 3.5 years I had the CASH to buy my 2009 Vibe GT ($16100 total, car, title & taxes) .... no loans at all! That's the best feeling there is my friend. You too will get there someday
