Hey everyone, A quick question. Has anyone put a TRD short throw in the Vibe?I'm looking at one at Toyotapartspeople.com http://toyotapartspeople.com/S...ifterAny thoughts? Better deals? ... Will it even work? Shift nob included makes it a great deal as far as I can tell.Best, Steve

see if TWM has a better price on a STS. if you are a student or in the military you get %5 off as well.

I would suggest TWM as well. It reduces throw by 40% and you don't have to hack up your old one to install like the TRD requires.

Thanks guys for the feedback.. TWM looks pretty hard core! - Pontiac Vibe Short Shifters are CNC machined to aircraft industry tolerances and plated for ultra low friction and extreme corrosion resistance.- TWM Performance is proud to be the first to offer this full assembly short shift kit for the Pontiac Vibe. - Price: $269.95 USDTRD Quickshifter for your '05 Toyota Matrix:TRD quickshifters deliver faster, positive shifting. Repositioned pivot points provide up to a 30% shorter shift throw. Shift knob included. - List Price: $250.00 | Your Price $94.23Would you say it is worth an extra 160$ ??

I'm happy with my purchase. The fact that the TWM has a machined metal frame to me makes it stronger. That and it's pretty much a straight bolt on process, only need to remove 2 small pieces from the stock shifter. The stock one has a plastic frame which you would have to saw apart to install the TRD one, which also means there's no going back if you change your mind in the future. Here's what the TWM looks like installed before all the covers are back on And here's what the stock shifter assembly looks like after removal

Yes, It does look like quite a solid upgrade. I bet the bushings make a big difference as well in slop shifting. I am a student and would get the 5% ... muhaha..I don't remember how much my Steeda short throw was for my focus back in the day, but it was well worth it!Thanks for the pix, and the advice!

Anybody else have the motor mounts? I never got around installing them. Partly because some who have tried had a problem with doing one of them, and I can't remember if it's the rear or front one.For the time being, I'm waiting until I have to replace my clutch, since I figure it would be easier then.

shifter and bushings installed.... (removed) LOVE LOVE LOVE ... makes it feel like a brand new car... only took me an hour for both... while taking off my air box to sneak in to get the bushings on, i did notice the sad excuse for a ground wire & now finally realize why so many people upgrade these wires...noted & added to the "to do list"Ill let you know Herb about those motor mounts when I head up to the garage this week for the oil change (just seafoamed) & lowering spring install
