Smallest pulley

What is the smallest pulley anyone has heard of being used on the trd supercharger for the 1.8L? I'm thinking about having a custom one made out of billet aluminum at the tiny size of 1.4" or 1.2" and then having the idler upsized one inch..just trying to double my boost.

Yeah, the trd supercharger comes with the 2.4" I looked around and the smallest I could find was 2.0, but I'm looking to at least double the boost, so I'm not sure if that would do it..anybody have experience with this?

Hmmm,My question would be at what RPM's does the thing explode?Everything is designed to work in a given situation thus there are limits to what it can do. If you over rev it, it can come flying apart.find out before you go modifying too much.Dave

At some point after that you get diminishing returns. The blowers have max RPM...heat buildup will also negate gains. There is a detailed thread, it think in MO in which a member breaks down a lot of the pulley size questions.

you can go to about 2.1, with a good water/meth cooling system...after that you're just gonna overspin your blades...and over heat em...

Yeah The guys over at the MO site say there getting about 9psi of slowness with a 1.9" pulley. I found one at pulley boys for $75 The only problem is they won't respond to my emails..I also read in tuner mag this month that 13 psi is the holly grail that everyone agrees on for max boost on a stock engine, also learned the mazda speed boosted motors are exactly the same ones used in there na cars.
