Any one out there know where one can find data on the typical lifespan of a 2006 auto trans for the base vibe? Ihave been told they are very reliable but have found no info on failure rate or at what mileage one would expect failure?

I'm interested in these numbers, too. Almost 50k miles on my '06 base automatic. No issues (knock on wood). Changed the tranny fluid last year. Still nice and cherry red.

Mine lasted 60,000 but my results not typical. I need to change the fluid in my wife's '03, low 60k mi and it's never been touched. Don't really feel like putting a transmission in it a few years down the road thanks to the original fluid never being changed. There have been more people with problems with the manual than the automatic. It's not the most refined gearbox, tis annoyingly rough around the edges but I guess it will last a while.
