For those who wanted a 2010 Vibe but can't find one - Dealer ad in today's paper - all new 2010'sMatrix Base AT MSRP 19,710 for $17,258 - $750 rebate = 16,538Also - Venza MSRP 27,294 for 23,738 - 750 rebate = 22,988Rav4 AWD MSRP 24,284 for 21,488 - 1,000 rebate = 20,488.Avalon XL MSRP 29,974 for 25,974 - $3,000 rebate = 22,974Highlander^ MSRP 30,298 for $26,188 - $1,000 rebate = 25,188These are all the regular rebates for anyone.I am especially surprised at the Venza pricing as I have read it is a hot seller. There is also a $279/mo 36 month ease deal on the Venza, zero down, 12,000 miles a year.

...sounds like a proverbial "...anti-Toyota consumer backlash..." sale to me.

Toyota is going to have to initiate some kind of super sale program, after all the negative news out there. They will have to do something to bring buyers back. That would be very good for consumers thinking of making a new car purchase, since Toyota doesn't traditionally get into heavy discounting. Even long time Toyota owners are starting to be affected by the media bombardment that the company is under. I've heard more than one say they are not comfortable driving a potentially defective car and mention getting something else.

I read that the extra cash and low lease pricing was for Toyota Loyalty only. Those of us who don't have Toyota's have to pay more.

The prices above are for anyone. The Toyota Loyalty rebate is only on certain models - in that ad it was listed for the Corolla $500, and the Camry $500. All I know is what I read in the paper. AND - this weekend only make your best deal & shoot a 3 point shot for $500 additional off.

They're going to have to pay people to take them before too long. They're advertising 2 years of free maintenance here but I think you have to have to trade a Toyota in the first place. My old boss was thinking about a Barfis... Told him that if he was going to buy a new Toyota he should use their current troubles as a bargaining tool... I'm sure many are doing this right now...

houseofbugs -- "And the 100% acceleration is free!"...yeah, but the 0% cold-weather braking is optional!

They offer a Tacoma with a $2,000 rebate and 0% interest for 60 months, my the AWD would be gone.

The firesale is coming... be patient...If (when) the acceleration problem is proven to be the fault of the ecu and not the pedal, you may just get that Tacoma!!!

Just watch their marketing this Spring. I think rebates will probably grow a bit once the "car buying season" gets going.

This accelelration and braking thing is taking a toll on Toyota sales. It's been a fairly weak and iffy market for car manufactures since the big downturn... so this fiasco makes it a twofer for Toyota. Just a guess, but I think they will do something fairly big to get people back into their show rooms.
