Ok, so I'm attempting change the 'power' fuse (power windows) in the instrument panel on my '08 Vibe and having major problems! Is there a trick to getting the fuse in there?! I'm a pretty big guy so getting underneath the stearing column is difficult enough as it is. I had a 90's Cadillac that had the fuse box in a similar place but it had a hinged bracket on it that would allow you to swing it out for easy access. I couldn't see anything like that on this fuse box, and my manual doesn't give any tips. Is there a trick to it I'm not getting?! There has got to be an easier way! I'm tempted to just start taking off panels, but I should be able to access them fairly quickly in case of emergencies right?!PLEASE HELP!!!!

first pop the hood.open up the fuse box there... remove the fuse puller. it's labled on the underside of the fuse box lid(it's white and located in the upper right hand corner of the fuse block if you were standing on the side of the car upagainst the fender.)second move your driver seat all the way back, the cover is held on like the one under the hood with a push in clip. It will end up falling on your face then use the puller to remove the fuse and push the new one in. Pop the cover back on and put the fuse puller back.

I didn't know there was a fuse puller under the hood so thank you for that. I was just wondering if there is a trick to changing it. I know how to do it, I just can't GET TO it. The POWER fuse is the one furthest back there. It doesn't sound like there is a trick, but I'll use the fuse puller, that might be a bit easier. thanks!

some have laid upside down on the driver seat with it in the fully reclined possition but yea it's a PITA to get to and work down there if your not the size of a supermodel on crack

welcome to genvibe.The location of that fuse block is major suck. I've got a 12V outlet in the dash that likes to short out, blowing the cig fuse which also powers the radio. lately I've been replacing it by kneeling on the ground at the driver door, using a pair of foreceps to hold the fuse, a flashlight and a mirrorI don't know that taking panels off will necessarily help.

I got it!!! I just needed to find the right position. Like I said I'm a big guy so it's difficult for me to get into tight places. I was seriously working on that fuse for a half an hour, I couldn't fit my head and my hand/arm under there at the same time, so I couldn't watch what I was doing.

Glad you were able to work it out. I didnt even know there was a fuse puller under the hood. Learning experience for us all LOL.
