Driver's inside handle

Anyone know why there is no handle on the inside for the driver to grab on to when getting out? There's a handle for the other three doors (the rear two have a knob on them for hanging clothes).I'm guessing that the driver is supposed to be holding on to the steering wheel when cornering instead of the handle .
