So am I actually!GO CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I absolutely LOVE Vancouver. Such a beautiful spot. I think we will go back again this summer and do some whale watching and the Grouse grind. Anyway as for the Olympics, I missed some of the opening ceremonies, but made sure to stay awake to see Canada enter BC Place. Seriously brought tears to my eyes... that and watching the Georgian athletes enter after their luger died earlier that day.

Seriously, I have never been so much NOT in the Olympic mood. For the last 3 years, I wanted to go for a road trip to Vancouver because it's almost one in a lifetime experience...Until 6 months ago, I realized that I could not be on vacation from my job for more than 1 week. Since it's about a 50-hour straight ride from here I just couldn't afford it.Plus, the full coverage from the press began last Monday by showing rain pouring and dump truck getting some fresh snow 300km away from the site that did not have enough snow and ski training sessions being cancelled due to warm weather...Good thing though that everything seems to run fine, I guess, I'm not listening much the TV coverage this weekend.I really liked the light show in the opening ceremonies.

I've never been to Vancouver either. We liked the part of the opening where the skiers in red and blue were suspended around the white mountain, the whales swam across the ocean, Sarah McLaughlin singing, the young man who was flying and spinning.May every athlete do their best and may we be inspired by their determination.

Whistler and driving the full distance of Hwy-99 is a much better reason to go through Vancouver!I'm waiting for the start of Mens Hockey. Time to dismantle the competition!!!

The women final will be between the US and Canada no doubt. These 2 teams are in a league of their own.The mens....wow hard to say. Of course being Canadian I would love to see a Russia vs Canada final, we have such history playing them. A rematch with the US would be nice as well. I just hope we get to the finals. Go Canada!

Gretzky mirrored your thoughts ArcsVibe. He mentioned US vs Canada in the final to help North America as a whole to really bring out hockey in the forefront more.

He is starting Loungo since Robert plays for the Canucks...you know home boy gets the start. I think Marty will be the started but I would not count out Fleury either....

Quote, originally posted by K-NINE »Has anybody seen the women Olympic athletes in Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition? nope. i read an article where the women were defending their decision to pose. basically, "we spend a lot of time training and are in shape. we are comfortable in our bodies and don't feel shy about it."i also read that the IOC is thinking about pulling hockey. it's NA dominated. EU and Asia can't do anything about it, quoting these and other arguments on why baseball and softball were pulled a few years ago and won't be in the 2012 summer.

I have no idea why they built the cauldron on ground level. If it was 2 stories or higher, it should deter most vandals from climbing it not to mention make it easier to see from a distance.
