Well, it is good that they atleast know it and are tryign to do something about it. Personally, I will never buy a Ford, but may buy a GM later in my life...-Slink

This is hardly a "unique" marketing campaign. Hardee's is running plenty of ads saying they know they've made mistakes in their business lately. Problem is that GM, just like Hardee's, has turned off so many former customers with their lack luster response to quality concerns that, just like Hardee's, they will never see many of those customers they've turned away ever return.Same can be said for Ford, and to probably a lesser degree Chrysler. What's real disappointing is hearing some of the "Big 3" making comments they want to be #3 (behind Toyota and Honda) as if it's enough just to be better than the other domestics and that they simply don't have a chance to compete with Toyota or Honda.Just the same I hope they follow through and actually make an effort to compete by increasing quality instead of just trying to improve their profit margin by killing their suppliers with never ending cost reductions.

I agree. It's a shame really. The Matrix is my first Toyota and our 2002 was our first Honda. Before that, it was all GM and a lot of repair bills followed by low resale value. I thought Saturn was their big hope and it was for awhile. Now Saturn is a typical GM car. I do think GM makes good "big" SUVs and trucks though. That's where their profit comes from so I think they put more R&D into them.
