Rear Wiper

Its not a huge issue.. but if I can fix it that would be great. The rear wiper doesn't stop level at the resting position. It sags down quite a bit. It seems to be getting worse, especially after there was ice all over it. When it wipes to the other side it doesn't go completely level either, it is to slanted upward; like its not going all the way down. Is there a way to readjust it? Thanks guys! BTW: Its a '09 vibe in case you didn't know.

Try popping off the hinged cap @ the base of the arm (hint: its hinged to the arm itself) and snug the 10mm (usually) nut underneath. Be sure to put the arm where it should be in the parked position before you tighten the nut.

Long time, but, the wiper is still sagging. The nut as is tight as it can get. Seems to be sagging a little more. Any other idea's on a fix?

did you loosen the nut, then position the arm, then tighten the nut?I know it sounds common sense, but I thought I'd ask.On my rear wiper, it was fairly easy(5 minute job) to remove the WHOLE assembly. Maybe you could try to disassemble some of it to see if anything looks suspicious?

(^^^ Good advice. ^^^)Also, you might check the fluting for soft metal that may be clogging up the arm. The metal on the arm is usually softer than on the stub because it's considered more easily replaceable. If that's the case, a battery terminal brush may be the answer to clearing out the unwanted metal, but use it in an in/out motion, not a circular one or you could do more harm.
