Nice Pic! That looks awesome! We'll be getting 10+" on Sunday/Monday called the Manitoba Mauler(lol). It'll be no Snowpacolypse, Snowmageddon or Snownami like your having out east. Just a typical storm.

Welcome to Canada. Two years ago, we had over 13ft of snow over the course of the winter. By the time spring arrived, my shovels were broken, none were available in store, and the hubby was using a garden shovel to carve a path through the snow on the front walk. As a result, the front sidewalk, was almost level with my garage roof. I'm SO HAPPY that this year, we haven't had a significant snowfall in weeks. Freakin' awesome. You guys can keep it down south for once.

I'm happy to report that we are having the BEST weather of the week today. 54*F and sunny. The bad news... I just got home from work about an hour ago and feel like a nap. I will probably sleep most of the afternoon away, in spite of light bulbs and a DRL/AHL override switch to install, not to mention finishing the horn install (OE from the Vibe) on my lawn tractor. Recycle, recycle, recycle!! Joatmon, that is a scary picture. I remember storms like that when growing up in Pa. Snow/storms like that are only good if you are not required to go anywhere while they are happening. And the road salt afterward is a body killer.

We have a friend in the Baltimore Md Area who sent us a photo this morning with almost 2 ft of snow, she claims to have three feet now but I'm skeptical, people tend to exaggerate! Here in Northern NJ we maybe got 3 inches tops.Dave

Man, what'd you mid-atlantic folks do to make this happen? You keep getting dumped on... Hope everyone is doing ok up there.Guestimating generously, out of that mess that went east, we ended up with maybe 2 inches. We're at 12" for the season.

If I lived in a place where snows like this were normal, I'd own a snowblowerfrom page three of this articleQuote » President Barack Obama, a snow veteran from his days in Chicago, didn't have a smooth day. He walked out of the White House midmorning to find the South Lawn, his backyard, looking nearly like an untouched wilderness.First, there was a small fender bender on the White House south lawn. Then a tree branch, overcome with snow, cracked and fell on a motorcade vehicle with press inside when the president was coming back from a speech at the Democratic National Committee's winter meeting in town.Obama thanked Democrats for being "willing to brave a blizzard. Snowmageddon here in D.C."

We don't have a snow blower... just shovels. The guy across the street has one and usually if we have significant amounts (+20cm) he comes over and does our driveway for us. Here is our front walk a couple years ago.

About 20 inches here. I first shoveled when there was 14 on the ground. I then shoveled 4 more times over the next 6 inches. Today, I went up on the roof and took off the first 3 feet of snow up from the gutters to allow the water to drip in. I then jumped off of the roof since the snow was so high and getting down off of the ladder would have been dangerous. We were without power for 8 hours, and I just got my internet/cable back an hour ago.
