I never thought this would be this hard. I have a Delta (NON drop-rail) 4-in-1 crib (also converts to crib/toddler bed/day bed/full size bed) on the way and need to decide on a mattress. Picking the crib was easy ("that one!" No second choices) the mattress is proving to be the hard part. I'm extra-stressed because I have less than 2 weeks before the crib order comes in and I put it together. I still have to clean out that room and repaint it before that happens. I'm looking at two right now, Serta Perfect Dream (made in the USA) and Sealy Naturalis (organic, unknown origin) both 150 coil and the Sealy Naturalis is $2 cheaper but doesn't have the vents. Anybody have either of these mattresses or any thoughts on them? Thank you

I don't know. We are using the one that my in-laws gave to us. It seems to be just fine. M.J. sleeps just fine and hasn't complained about it.

Don't overthink this. Babies don't weigh that much and don't really put much load on a mattress. And they'll be out of it in 4 years.We had two cribs at once when the kids were infants, with whatever mattress they came with. They slept just fine.My parents still have the crib they bought for me in 1958, with original mattress, that they used for me and my 4 siblings, and it is still being used for grandkids when visiting, and they sleep fine too.Just make sure the mattress is a tight fit on all 4 sides.

How hard their bed is isn't one of them! Just make sure as mentioned, it fits tight against the side and is flame retardant.Dave

As long as the mattress isn't soft and fits the crib snugly, you're fine.You may want to invest in mattress pads that you can wash when the baby has a "blowout" or some other "leak" that needs cleaning. I went down again today and peeked under the demo crib's sheet to see if I could see which mattress they used with it, but it was nothing but a huge piece of sponge in there.I still have a week before the crib gets here but have a coupon that starts on the 19th, so may just go with the Serta from BRU since that coupon will make it cheaper than the Sealy.

I went and checked for ya- we purchased a Simmons Baby Beautyrest "Back Care VII" from BRU back in 2002 and it survived two kids really well, including serving as a toddler bed for our then 3 y.o.

Aw, thank you for checking...I looked on the BRU website and there is no mattress by that name; only a "Simmons Beautyrest Beginnings Sophisticated Mattress" and that one is a bit more than I'm looking to spend-maybe it being sophisticated had something to do with the higher price
