However, the district attorney has not filed formal charges.A clerk for Judge Tim Atkins said there is no time frame for when charges might be filed. Once charges are filed, a summons will be issued for McGie to appear in court.McGie is accused of crashing his 2007 Pontiac Vibe into the front entrance of the Edgewater on Feb. 3, killing 74-year-old Helene Walker and 81-year-old Helen Hindmand. Six others were injured. According to reports from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, which has jurisdiction over Laughlin, McGie told investigators he had fainted prior to the crash.McGie was arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony reckless driving resulting in death. He was released on $6,000 bail at the time.McGie, a part-time Laughlin resident from Kelso, Wash., faces up to six years in prison on each charge if convicted.
