I found this PDF for the Toyota Verso and see that it has a tow rating in the UK of 2,866.5 pounds for a trailer with brakes.http://www.toyota.co.uk/vs2/ol...c.pdfThe Vibe here in the USA has a tow rating of 1,500 pounds and doesn't differentiate between braked and un-braked trailers. Can someone knowledgeable tell me what the differences are between the Vibe and Verso relative to towing? Chassis, suspension, ??? Or is it just the American fear of lawsuits?

Brakes on the Verso look to be the main weak point as the unbraked trailer weight is only 992lbs. Most class 1 trailers don't have brakes here. A class 2 hitch might require a stronger mount then what's on our Vibes.Quote, originally posted by beemerphile1 » Or is it just the American fear of lawsuits? That too.... seeing a Vibe hauling it's own weight would attract a lot of attention!
