I love vibe/hatchback!

Just help my gf move today with my Vibe! Just took two trips to get everything to her new place! We were both impress with the vibe's cargo space! She is planning to get a single size mattress this week, wondering if the vibe can carry it? Is the width of the mattress that might be the limiting factor, if the mattress is too long in length, I can tie down the hatch...

I got a double mattress in mine. Had to fold it in half but it fit, hatch fully closed front seat laying flat!

Just don't get the impression that you're going to be able to see ANYTHING out of the right side of the car.....

My recollection is that a single mattress is 39 inches wide. You have about 43-44" width between the wheel wells inside so you are good to go!

Just bough an exercise bike today. The box was huge! Fit in with the hatch closed no problem. Love the fold-down seats! I could have easily fit two of 'em I loved my Sunfire, but when it comes to hauling things there's no comparison.

Is the width of the mattress that might be the limiting factor, if the mattress is too long in length, I can tie down the hatch...You might want to test first to see where you can tie down the hatch. Most hachbacks nowadays have a small handle where you can't tie a rope as opposed to old type handles where you could attach one. The 2003-2008 vibe could be attached if you passed the rope via the rear window but since that window can't be opened on 2009-2010 models that option is out.My brother made this fun discovery with his mazda3 sport while in the middle of a hardware store parking with lots of 2x4 in the car... He had to call a friend with a van to come help him out.A friend once made the suggestion that I tie the rope directly to the 2 struts to keep the trunk closed but unfortunatly it'S pretty hard to do that from the outside of the car and the trunk is full by that point so you can,t do it from the inside either.

What you have to do is manually "close" the latch and just run the rope through there. Just push your finger into the lock as if it were the hook at the bottom. The latch will lock back in place and you can tie your line through the hole. (Or use a bungee cord and hook both ends to the latch hook at the bumper.) Pull the handle on the outside to open the latch again.
