O2 sensor help

Hi,Yesterday the check engine light went on on our '06 vibe ~80,000 miles. I took it to autozone and their scan tool said it was a heated oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 issue. Which one is it? Pre or post converter? These are not cheap replacements, and just throwing a $100 sensor may not fix it.Any suggestion? Thanks in advance,Jon

sensor 2 is the one after the cat.what was the CEL code? I think P0420 is for that sensor, and I only cured that in mine by replacing the cat. Hopefully yours will the be the sensor, which costs less.you say ~80K miles, check the terms on the emissions warranty, if you are less than 80K, it might still be covered

I have a '03 GT with 119,000 miles and I just had the check engine light come on, the code is P0135. Is this the one on the engine? If so, how do you replace? I see how to replace the one by the cat but not anything on the 1 on the engine. Also, does the engine have to be warm to remove? Saw a post on the forum that someone stripped the manifold when the engine was cold and trying to remove.Update 03/27/10 3:06pm EST: see the attached photos and can you tell me if these are the 2 OS? If they are how to get to the 1st one (from the passenger side floor mat also)? See 2nd post for addt'l photo

Yup, those are O2 sensors. You'll have to unbolt the sensor and/or follow the wiring through the car to wherever the plug is located!

Thanks Star_Deceiver, so the P0135 is the 1st sensor (right)? Has anyone used the NGK O2 Sensor?

Ok, changed the O2 Sensor using a NTK (NGK) Part 21547 and replacement was fairly simple. Plugged in the OBD II and notice that it still threw a P0135, see this:View / Vehicle Trouble Log / Record Problem 3OverviewTime :04/06/2010 04:28 AMVehicle :Vibe GTCarChip :P-4264-BTrouble Code :P0135Description :O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1)Comments :Engine StatusFuel Pressure (Gage) :Intake Manifold Pressure (Absolute) :Engine Coolant Temperature :183.2 °FCalculated Load Value :24.3 %Engine Speed :3,866 RPMVehicle Speed :53 MPHFuel Trim StatusShort-Term Fuel Trim (Bank 1) :0.00 %Short-Term Fuel Trim (Bank 2) :Long-Term Fuel Trim (Bank 1) :-3.91 %Long-Term Fuel Trim (Bank 2) :Fuel System StatusFuel System 1 Status :Fuel System 2 Status :Closed loop; using oxygen sensor(s) as feedback for fuel control. But the CEL is not on so I'm not sure what's going on. Any help would be appreciated.
