Instrument Panel not Working

i had a pioneer DEH-11E HU installed and since the instrument panel doesn't work. no gauges or lights turn on unless i disconnect the panel harness and plug it back in before starting the engine. i noticed the wiring harness that was connected to the stock harness doesn't have the blue/white wire. i then bought a metra 70-2003 harness which does have it. could this be an issue? let me know please if you guys have had any trouble with this. thank you.

Sounds like you blew a fuse. I have had it happen to me after changing out a radio because I didnt disconnect the negative to the battery while I was working. Check the fuse box under the hood & take it from there.

i've checked the possible fuses. i'm hoping it's not the dimmer fuse. if it is, are those available at any auto parts store or dealership only?

All the fuses should be availible at your local auto parts store.

If the gauges work when you disconnect and replug the cluster the fuse should be fine. Did you hook the orange Illumination wire on the metra harness to anything?

no that wasn't hooked up to anything. the harness from the pioneer head unit doesn't use one. the orange, orange/white, and blue/white wires on the metra harness aren't hooked up.

same results. however, i took it to my mechanic to get a diagnosis on the circuitry and proper juice running through. everything it working as it should. there are no loose grounds. there is no shorted relay. the instrument panel itself is the problem.anyone know if a used one will work and if anything else needs to be reset? don't want to spend more for a new one if a used one will work at a lower price.
