hi guys. i have a 04 Vibe and recently got an inexpensive aftermarket stereo installed. since the install my speedo lights and all the gauges don't light up or work (except for turn signals and other basics when the engine starts). i disconnected and re-connected the battery and it works but once the engine is shut off and restarted nothing again.i've checked the fuses both in the engine bay and under the dash and they're good. i also changed the head and dimmer fuse block but to no avail. what could it be? obviously the cluster works but doesn't come on.please help me on this. thank you.

Something isn't attached right with your radio install, or hasn't been re-attached.Welcome to GenVibe BTW!!!

there was a wire left on the floor that was cut and appears to have a ground connection to it. it's black but why would it have been cut in the first place?

welcome to genvibeIs it just the instrument cluster light? How about the lights onthe Heat/AC controls? (Stupid question coming so please don't take offense) have you verified that the dimmer isn't set all the way dark? The dashboard illumination circuit gets it's power from the TAIL fuse in the under dash fuse block. Manually turn your headlights on and check to make sure that your tail lights come on, you don''t want to get rear ended the next time you drive at night.

Make sure it isn't the dimmer dial turned down first before anything. It sounds like a stupid place to start, but it also is the cheapest place to start.

i've checked everything except wiring which i'd need to remove the stereo myself. the ac/console lights do work but no speedo lights/gauges. i've checked the fuses as mentioned and they're all good. i'm thinking of taking it to a better shop and see what they can do or i'll just look at it. i downloaded the wiring list from the sticky so i hope to look at all the wires from the factory stereo.thanks for the input guys.

so today (after all the rain has gone) i disconnected the battery and then the pioneer HU and put the stock radio in. connected the battery, turned the ignition and everything worked. so then i replaced the pioneer again for the stock (keeping the battery connected). everything still working okay so now to wait a few hours till checking again. if the gauges don't light up what could be the problem? the cluster works (lights and all). oh the waiting game...
