My wife backed her 03 Vibe GT out before the garage door was completely up. Broke it off at the roof. What now? Dealer wanted $1000 to replace. Need help. Can it be replaced easier/cheaper? Is there an alternative?

Get a replacement oem of Ebay or get a Sharkfin painted to match off ebay.

I think I'd live without radio before I'd plunk down a grand to fix it. Does your insurance cover it? I'm with BC, get yourself a shark fin (or some kind of aftermarket antenna) and replace it yourself. In fact, if memory serves, there's a pretty good DIY somewhere on there for a shark fin install.Where exactly did the antenna break?

The exact same thing happened to me a few years backhttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5967To fix, you'll have to remove the headliner which should take about 45 min. Follow directions on this thread:
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=4600The part number for the base is #88971569 and costed me just a bit over $50CANIf your roof is dented like mine was, take it to a PDR place and they can coax the metal back to where it was before without damaging the paint. This cost me around $125CANInstall the new base and put the headliner back, and screw in the antenna and you're done. Really shouldn't cost more than $200 tops
