Hello all!I just bought a 2009 AWD model last night.I have my first question... As I was driving home, it started to snow pretty heavy. I was on some back wood roads & took a corner to fast & my back end started to slide. Well the AWD must of kicked in & it corrected but there was this fast beeping & it stopped. I did not look at the dash to see what light was on & my owner book did not tell me what it was. Thanks for the help!

Congrats and welcome!I believe that the beeping is your traction/stability control telling you that it is working.

Yep that's definitely the stability control, my non-AWD vibe did the same thing when I turned a bit too fast in too much snow.

I was wondering if and where you saw any new Vibes in your search.

Welcome!!I see you've been introduced to the VSC system. The off switch for that is on the left side of the dast below the far left vent, hold it for 5 seconds while stopped to turn it off!

Hey congrats on your vibe!! Yep that VSC can really come in handy. One time in my FWD 09 I was going way too fast in snowy conditions on an entrance ramp. about 40 mph. ( I go way slower now) The vibes tail end started to swing out, it was looking bad like I was gonna keep spinning, go off and take out some road side reflectors but then.. beep-beep-beep!! the VSC started talking to the wheels and stopped the car mid swing. It kept me on the road and saved me some moneys worth or body work. as well as not having to deal with getting the car pulled back onto the road.

I dont want to turn off the beep, like to know that it is kicking in. My Vibe is not new, was a rental with 21,000 miles on it. I was not able to find any new ones with in 50 miles of my location.

Surprises me that a rental car company would buy an AWD.

Ya me too.. The carfax showed it was in Boston so maybe with the winters there etc.. But it would be the only way I would buy a Vibe. If I did not get it then it would of been a Escape, Vue, or CR-VOne thing I noticed is the back axle has no springs like im used to. There is a technical name for it.. Something strut
