Plastic piece for power windows broke $$$$$$

I rolled down my passenger window on my 2003 vibe, and it got stuck in the middle. Turns out one of the two plastic pieces that support the power window feature broke. The window, plastic, and motor are all sold as one, and the new piece costs about $1,000. I got it at a junk yard for $500. But still, that cost, plus 2 hours of labor for a piece of plastic ??Has this happened to anyone else? The power windows came with the car, were not aftermarket. It's a 2003 Vibe GT.

I did the fix when the recall first came out. Mechanic said the recall work looked good and had nothing to do with my problem.
