How do I know what year I have?

I know it sounds like an odd question but I think the dealer I bought the car from didn't know or the title was wrong. The title says 2005 but when you file for a lost title in some states I know they just ask you. I ask cause I can't get the seat belt beep trick to work. I don't have the retained power after I shut off the car. My visors don't have the little extended portion.I think I was lied to (possibly unintentionally.)

got to
http://www.carfax.com and type in your VIN. It will tell you year, make and model.

the tenth digit of the VIN indicates model year 4=2004, 5=2005, etc

As for the visors, Herb successfully changed his out to the extending visors. Paging Herb...come in Herb...

The door sticker says 07/05 manufacturing date.

The seatbelt beeping thing can be a little tricky. Sometimes it takes me a few tries to get it to work right after I take the battery out. Joatmon is right about the VIN. It will tell you what year it is. The manufacturing date is not necessarily going to tell you what model year your car is.

ninth digit is a 4.....tenth...is a 5! And i finally got the beep to stop this morning. Did the 03/04's not have the beep disable option?And now I found out how my sun visor extends....d'oh!

Glad you figured it out and yes you can only disable the seatbelt beeping in the '05-'08 (unsure about the '09-'10).

It's definitely a feature I like to have as I'm used to having it on my work truck. Another item I upgraded my 03 to 05 is the dual stream washer on the rear window.Of course subsequent years didn't just have new or upgraded features. The roof rack cross rails, center console 12V power outlet, and dual bay arm rest were removed, so these are things you can look to "down grade" your Vibe to as well.That would make your Vibe even more difficult to figure out the year based on what's on it.

The door sticker may say built 07/05 but this could very well be a 2006 model since July is usually the month that manufacturers do the model year change. As stated in an earlier post... The 10th number in the VIN will be the model year.
