Wow.I only tried to use a valet once and the gentleman got into the car then promptly got out and told me he was not very good at driving stick. I gave him a tip for the honesty.

I came out of the womb with the concept of "Valet service" lost on me. If I didn't want to drive my car somewhere why the h* would be driving it to your establishment and handing you my keys?!

I saw that earlier. Doesn't surprise me.Reminds me of a time when I worked at a casino and one of the valet kids got a hold of a Corvette and was doing donuts in the parking lot... He smashed into a pole and that was the end of his valet career. Even though my car is at the bottom of the automotive food chain, I just couldn't bring myself to use a valet.

I stayed at a hotel in Columbus last summer where they pretty much forced you to use their valet service if you wanted to park your car in their garage. There was a slight uphill incline right where the gate to the garage was, and I watched the guy burn the crap out of my clutch trying to get it up the hill from a dead stop. He actually had to roll backwards, twice, to get himself on level ground to start again. I smelled burnt clutch when he pulled it up next to me. He just kind of gave me a sheepish "sorry" and handed me my keys. Worst part is that it's not really possible to prove wear on a clutch, so nothing I could do about it. Never again.

Unfortunately there are a few places I go where it is not an option. Got my GT back once, I could smell the clutch burning almost before I saw the car coming. Valet thought 3rd was 1st. Figure that probably took 5K miles off the clutch.

What hotel was that? I think there are self park garages within a short distance of all the downtown hotels in Columbus. Cost less too.

Valet is just another way to suck money out your pocket! Kinda like overpriced bottle water at a restarant. I would rather spend my money on something worth it, like a drink LOL. ! I can park my own vehicle thank you......!!!!Now if money was no object.....maybe I would think about it. Right now I choose to live below my means.

Cheli's Chili in Clinton Twp, MI during the Wing's playoffs last season offered free valet. They got inside the vehicle and only went maybe 100 feet. http://www.chelischilibarclinton.com/Also, many hospitals offer valet as an option.
