Both mine and my mom's '09 GTs are wearing these for the winter:'07 Toyota Camry 16" steel wheels wrapped in brand new 205/55/16 Kelly Explorer all season tires with Dorman black lug nuts and all the weights mounted on the backsides of the wheels for a "cleaner" look. The wheels were collected from eBay, Craig's List and a local junkyard. None of the wheels have more than 1000 miles on them. Each set of four wheels and tires cost just under $500.00 mounted and balanced. A small price to pay to keep the 18s nice for spring and summer. So far, the tires are doing great in the snow and ice. We have no problem getting around with them.I went on a little road trip today and decided to stop and take a couple pictures of my GT in winter mode.

Thanks. We had some snow and ice last week and the tires worked great. No sliding or anything. Couldn't be happier with them.

your going to dislike the tires, you should of spent the money on actual snow tires and not all season specially those ones, i never liked those tires, i used to sell them at a kelly tire dealer.

That's fine. That's your opinion. We don't get that much snow and ice here to justify getting a snow-specific tire in my opinion. I did a lot of research and felt that an all season tire was a better option for me and the local winter weather conditions. I have now driven in both snow and ice and have not had a single problem with them. The tires haven't spun at all, not even when I try to make them spin to have a little fun. It has always been my opinion that the most important factor in winter driving is the driver. I am a very safe winter driver and I have never had a single problem driving in winter with all season tires on any of the cars I've owned.

Smart move on the tire changes. The winters at the Ohio/Michigan border are LOADED with salt on the road and with just a couple years of driving around here, the shiny 18' rims would be destroyed !!! My 09 Vibe GT is pretty much garaged for the winter BUT it's a matter of time till it gets driven year round and I will do EXACTLY the same as what you did to keep the 18's looking new for a LONG time!

Do you plan on putting nice rims on those poppies or just let it ride on the black steel?

Yeah, there was no way I was going to let the beautiful 18s get ruined by salt, sand, etc. They are the first thing everyone notices so I have to keep them in excellent condition .Quote, originally posted by Airmack »Do you plan on putting nice rims on those poppies or just let it ride on the black steel? The steel wheels are for winter. The rest of the year it wears the factory 18" GT wheels:
