A non scientific survey

In the last seven days as I've been driving around the lower mainland area, I have seen 13 Matrixs and only two Vibes. I know it's not a scientific survey, but I think appears that the Matrix is outselling the Vibe, at least in this area.Has anyone seen similar or different results in their areas?

I see 2-3 Matrices a day. If I see that many Vibes in a week

I see more Trix than Vibes, but both are pretty rare. Most of the time, they have out of province plates ... lots of AB, a few MB.

I used to see maybe a couple of Matrix a day but only one or two Vibes in a week. Over the past month or two I've noticed an increase in the number of Vibes on the road (about equal to the number of Matrix) plus I've seen some sitting on dealer lots (which I never used to).

In my area the Pontiac dealer is far more agressive in selling Vibes at discount. The Toyota dealer wouldn't get more than one or two matrix on his lot while the pontiac dealer had at least 7 vibes when I bought mine. As such, I see one or two vibes a day when I'm out driving, and am lucky to see one matrix a month. This is conservative kanses, though, and that may be why the more radical matrix appeals to fewer. Or it could just be that we have a sucky Toyota dealer (true).KSNeptune

I see a lot more Vibes then I do Matrixes. And according to the two other Michigan members posts it would seem that Michigan is more of a Vibe state

I finally saw a base Matrix just the other day.. after a 1-month spell of seeing nothing but 1-4 Vibe's per day.Our local Toyota dealers never seem to have a Matrix in stock.. either they aren't getting any in, have no desire to do so, or they are selling but not in the area. Either way, I'm sure things will equalize in a year or so.

Both are extremely rare around here. With the exception of one white Vibe and one black Matrix that I see almost every day, I've seen less than a dozen of either one -- in total -- ever. I had a hell of a time buying one -- mine came from 375 miles away.

I think a "Pontiac" Vibe is accepted better around here than an "import" Toyota. The U.S. automotive industry has supplied many of us with employment, and "American" cars outnumber imports by far.

The local Toyota dealer is horrible and I've seen several Matrix with out of town dealer names on them but the two Pontiac dealers don't seem real interested in selling the Vibe.I see probably 5-7 Matrix per week and only 1-3 Vibe per week.

First of all, there are 2 other Vibe in my street. Actually, my left side neighbor have a base shadow one and my fourth nighbor on the right side have an AWD Salsa.Second, when I go to work almost each morning, I see another Salsa Vibe parked in a driveway at 0.5 km from my home.Third, on my way I often meet a Shadow Vibe, a Neptune Vibe, a black Matrix or a blue Matrix...But I always see more Vibe than Matrix. The most popular colors in my area are Salsa, Shadow and Neptune (all in two tones) for the Vibe and the Blue, Black or Silver for the Matrix.

Living in the Detroit area, I definately see more Vibes. I think I have noticed maybe 2 Matrixes in the last month, while I will see 2 or 3 vibes per day. Of course around here almost everyone has a direct link to employee pricing of GM, Ford, or Chrysler, (or all 3 if you are me!) so it makes sense to me.

I live north of Detroit. I see quite a few Vibes every day. I have even seen 3 Vibes at one intersection before (not including mine). As for the Matrix, I hardly see any. I see the same one on the way to school every day, but maybe 1 per week otherwise. Owning a Japanese car is like a sin around here which probably explainns alot, not to mention the fact that the Vibe looks a lot better than the Matrix.

I was so proud of myself when I lived in Detroit..... I didn't see not one VIBE on the road but of course if you live in Detroit you will that they mostly drive the higher end cars (you know the ones on the rap videos) So I stood out very well. It felt good when someone in a Cadillac, Range Rover Benz or BMW are staring hard trying to figure out what I am driving. Then I move to Rochester. Man these are just a common out here as the PT Crusiers are in Detroit. Now I have to work extra hard to stand out amongst the citizens in VIBE COUNTRY.....

I think many people that commute from Northern Macomb and St. Clair Cty have found the Vibes. The GM discount really helps.

I had the only Matrix in town for about 6 months. A couple weeks ago I saw a red Matrix with some temp plates that lives in my town. Bryan Ohio is a small town with the closet Toyota dealer being an hour drive away. Pontiac dealer is in the small town city limits Anyhow, I have seen a ton of Vibes - every single color excluding that new orange puke color. I think it just depends on the area of the country you live in. Like Hawaii, there are a TON more Matrixes than Vibes and that is totally to be expected.-Slink

The only place I am seeing Matrix's is on the Toyota lot...... but then again in my area, I am one of the few with a Vibe.... I've seen only about 4 other Vibes in Central KY.

When I first got my Vibe, I only saw Matrixes on the road. Now, if I had to guess, I'd say that I see about 8 Vibes to every 1 Matrix on the road. I am all over the Pittsburgh area for my job, so I get to see a lot of car in a lot of different parts of town. I have only ever seen one Vibe GT other than mine so far, it was in a parking garage and had West Virginia plates on it. Most of them I see, by far, are base models. Most Matrixes I see are driven by males age 18-25 while almost every Vibe I see in the area is driven by a woman age 45-65. Both cars are pletifully available at local dealers. I think I have seen every color Vibe on the road so far except for Envy. I was on the highway about 2 months ago with another Neptune Vibe (base model) ahead of me in my lane. I worked my way up next to it and it was driven by a man about 45-50 years old with whom I assume was his wife in the car. I rode along side of him long enough for him to notice I was there, then I dropped 2 gears and took off to let him see what he was missing. When I looked up in the mirror shortly after going into "zoom" mode, I could see a bit of a smile on the guy's face before I got too far ahead. I'd like to see a few more GT's here around the 'burgh.
