Quote, originally posted by A Psycho Martyr »any new stuffs? You made me realize I've dropped the ball on my garage thread (again)! Here are some 2010 pics I have on my phone. I realize they’re not calendar material, but, hey, my car isn’t a cover model Sea belt pads; Genviber Amtron threw them in when I bought his Magnaflow. Magnaflow TipA dirty picture showing my Tein S Springs, Tokico HP Struts, and Progress RSBClose up of my Fast Blade 17s with Fuzion Zr1s.And…No mods planned for 2010. My next upgrade will probably be the brakes, and my car will need both front bumper covers replaced when I have some extra cash. I’m busy taking a big course (had to cut down on the work/income), and am saving the $ this year. I've been very lucky to have chosen this as my car back in 2005. So far, a clutch, and door handle are the only mechanical repairs/replacements I've had to do so far; no doubt this car has saved my money in my 20s.Cheers, and thanks for stopping by!

Hey genvibers!I just rolled over 190,000 kms last night. Posting a picture of the odometer seems redundant ;-). Not a huuuge milestone, but hey, it will probably take another 8 months to post 200,000.Still no more mods on the radar. I'll probably get one more year out of the OEM brake pads, and then do an upgraded aftermarket brake kit next spring. Something at a midpoint between the stock setup, and a big brake kit, which my research tells me would be bad in subzero temperatures. Like I've said before, this car has been a great part of my life in my 20s, and been a big factor in me keeping $ in other preferential places.

Hey GV, another happy update:I just passed 200,000kms today. 2 K!It's been a solid, solid car. The amount of updating it's required over the years has been very reasonable. I haven't had a single powertrain issue, and it's still not burning oil. I'm still on the original brake pads/rotors, and battery. A quick list (off the top of my head) of things I've had to replace:-clutch (around 140K kms), one headlight bulb, one foglight bub, one rear license light bulb (tails are orig.), one dome light bulb (all other interior and dash lights are orig.), one blown strut around 120K kms (so i upgraded them all), one wheel bearing went at 185,000K (so I replaced them all), one door handle someone yanked off. Really, not bad for a 9.25 year old car at all.My car has been garage kept (except for 2 years), and has never gone more than 5k kms or 4 months (whichever comes first) without an oil change. I've kept up with the recommended maintenance, transmission oil, and filter changes, etc.) In cold months, I used to never drive it until the until the engine thermometer hit 50, but this year have started to just keep it below 2000RPMs until 50.I'm looking forward to my next ±5 years/100,000 kms!Cheers, fellow Vibers!

Just replaced the OEM battery today (Got a Motorcraft one put in). This week, my original one just started to slightly hesitate whenever the car sat in the cold for more than 6 hours. Getting the 3rd tranny oil change done today too.

Just rolled over 205,000kms today. Down to the last few days of my 3rd set of snow tires. This spring/summer I'll be in the (local) market for a set of used rims with snow tires on for next winter.Cheers!

Hey Genvibers. So I hear the new forum setup doesn't allow apostrophies, so my user name has been changed to 03VibeOttawa.

Another happy update: My car was manufactured in July 2002, which makes it TEN YEARS OLD this month. :D
Considering how much I've gotten out of it, and how much life it has left in it, I am one happy Viber.

Cheers!

Another update:
A couple of months ago, I picked up some barely used Blizzak Revo1 rubber mounted on rims off an '04 WRX for winters. They have only 2 months and less than 2000 km on them, and look new (The guy got a job down south). I paid only $200. It was my lucky day - the guy had just posted the ad an hour before I called him, and he had about a dozen calls about them before I picked them up later that day.

Cheers :D

Thanks! Yeah, winter driving (aside from any traffic jams) is one of those things that makes a long, dark, cold winter bearable, eh?!

I found out recently that my A/C compressor is toast :-l I'm going to deal with no A/C, which will be fine for me 99% of the time (I only ever used it 5-10x a year or so). Pretty much the only significant setback in my happy Vibership experience.

Hey Vibers and Viberettes,
It's with mixed feelings I mention here that my car is for sale. Here is a link to the ad:

I still love the Vibe, but I recently fell in love with and acquired a new ride.
Cheers, and thanks once again for visiting my thread. :D

shoot i accidently deleted my post. Anyways.... What an amazing price, i wish it was closer here to Florida. I'm currently on the market for a 2nd car, and that's a great price, most vibe around here range from 5,000-8,000. We are looking for almost anything under 4-5k

I think the 5spd limits the market big time, and the scraped bumper is a turnoff. Unfortunately, there aren't any local parts I've been able to find, and shipping new bumper covers from the US is a deal breaker price for me. I'm a little anxious, as I just put $1,700 into the car, and don't want to give it away too cheap.

I'm going to leave the car with the mods on until I find a buyer.

Just for reference here, I dropped the price to $3,300. :o

The Vibe is SOLD, delivered to its happy new owner last night. Appropriate Genviber PMs and emails have been replied to.

I'll send the new owner an email with a link to Genvibe. He seemed like a really nice guy. I let the car go for way less than I could have got if I were willing to wait it out a month or two, but there is something to be said for a quick, pleasant transaction, and not having an extra car around. Anyone who's ever sold a car privately would agree with me on this one.

Anyway, thanks for visiting my garage thread, and many thanks to all who have packed the Genvibe forums with fantastic information and insight. :D

I'll still visit here from time to time, and remain a Vibe enthusiast for life. :-)

Hey!
(For reference) My summer wheels are for sale (asking $500):
http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAd?AdId=4 ... 14fffbfcb9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm really dispointed they don't share a bolt pattern with my new car. I really took good care of them, and I will be a sad to part ways with them.

Cheers - have a good weekend.
