Buttons on my 05 Radio have been worn off and where to mount XM receiver?

I picked up an 05 vibe. I'm guessing it has the moon/tunes package as it has the sunroof and the sub in the back. The system sounds decent. The downside is the stock radio looks terrible. The PO must have had some serious nails cause the buttons on the stock radio are almost all worn through to the plastic backer. So it looks like I have a bunch of red demon eyes staring back at me.If I want to do a simple swap, what should I look at? Money is an issue. Granted I'd like to have an input to play an ipod over. I have a portable XM so I'm needing some suggestions on where to mount it. Thanks for the help everyone.

I have it "temped" up over the top of the hazard button. It's central so both passenger and driver can change channels. I'll have to trim the radio bezel some. I found out my direct connect is based on a different fm antenna size than the vibe has. Hmm...don't know how I'll do that. Still have to find out what to do with that radio. It does sound good. Now where do I get power back in behind the radio, etc so I can hardwire in my gps and the XM.

I use the AUX connection. I pulled the radio out as well just to find my fm connecter don't fit. The White cable routed along the door moulding under thedash and exiting through the shifter boot.

I would do the same but i don't have an Aux in with the stock radio. Any suggestions on that one?

Use the fm transmitter in the unit, or buy a new HU with an AUX input or proper antenna connection.

I'm already using the fm transmitter. The direct connect cuts out the fm antenna so i can stay on one channel.

I believe there's a way to hook up an AUX input on your HU.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=21818

still doesn't solve the issue of what to do with a HU that has the buttons worn off.
