139db Car alarm in the vibe. (Video!)

When I first installed my Pioneer Z3 Nav system in the car, I was warned that it was basically a "Billboard for thieves".That got me thinking.I ended up putting in an alarm system with sensors on all doors and windows, even the hood has a sensor. One firm bump, or any open door will set this thing off. Sensitive, but not to sensitive. It is a top of line Viper system. But I was not happy with the horn that came with it. Sounded like most others with the 'wooawooawwoa" effect.I ended up getting the Stebel Nautilus, 139 decibles of underwear shatting sound. The video came from my cell phone, so the sound quality is not that good. But in real life it's a doozie!INTERIOR SHOT OF "THE BILLBOARD FOR THIEVES":VIDEO OF THE ALARM IN ACTION:http://s197.photobucket.com/al...4.flvh ... How are you liking you're Viper system? I was thinking about getting one installed in another vehicle.

My replay has a lot of buffering.

My replay has a lot of buffering. That's a good system, I personally would go fro a 2 way. The video was fine for me, the picture did freeze a few times, but I got the point. 139 bds, eh? very nice, past the pain threshold and just shy of a jet aircraft noise.

So did you end up getting rid of your OEM fob? Take some pictures of the Viper fob and post them...I have been looking at the Viper 5101 - it is a 1 way keyless entry system/remote start - no alarm though.

I think I would want to wear ear plug protection, just in case the alarm went off. The Z3 Navi system doesn't come with a blank cover? Put the darkest tint allowed on all windows, too.

Yeah, my OEM fobs now rest with the Car's records. Thats whats nice about owning a Vibe, your maintenence records really aren't that much.It mainly just consists of reciepts for stereo, tires, oil changes. Here is a photo of my system:This is a photo of the Stebel Nautilus Horn. I bought the chrome one, but since it's under the hood, nobody sees it... but boy do they hear it!I hooked it up not only as an alarm, but as a hornfunction also. I wired 3-way from the stock horn, the Vipers horn, and then the Stebel horn.My goal is to have the alarm go off, then have some one from the Space Station go "What was that??"MSAGRO

I am torn between the remotes that come with your system and the one I posted. Some of the newer fobs for many systems are very tiny!

I am not talking about the Viper Brand specifically, but the parent company DEI has other brands such as Avital and the fob is VERY SMALL

Actually the photo of box above. The fob looks about the same size as mine.I like smaller fobs, I keep my keys in my pocket.Anything larger... um would invoke statements like "Is that a Viper Keyfob in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?"

Nice dude.... You know DEI (Vipers parent company) offer "pain generators" I have a few scattered throughout the car... you think the Steible is loud.. try something half the size that easily bottoms out your ears.. The rectangular FOB's are nicer if you decide to add options later.. Like adding a window module.. Added some other goodies, for both the cart and the alarm... lol...
