I've never done one and never will. I cannot imagine what those crazy shoppers must be like, and not putting my fetus-or my car!- in that danger hahaaa...I wouldn't care if they were giving away stuff for free or handing out Jacksons or Benjamins...I.ain't.doin'.it!

Meh, it's just another day up here. Besides, there's still another 25-26 days before you even need to think about christmas shopping! Around 6 pm on chrismas eve is when you should get to the 7-11 and grab some gift cards! (kidding - just in case my wife reads this... )Now, as for boxing day.... Let the riot begin!!!

Ah.......no....... Never have / never plan to.I did just go to the Home Depot and pick up a gallon of paint at 5 pm. No insanity there, just a lot of home owners with a long weekend planning to get something done!Dave

I headed into Best Buy to check out some things for car audio and it was very busy. The manager of the depart said they already did $30,000 in sames for GPS Units alone.

I sure did. Got up at 3am, ate breakfast and waited for the Sears website to come up at 4. After surfing, I went out in the cold and stood in front of Office Depot for 1.5 hours. Once the doors opened, I first grabbed the "free" HP printer before going to stand in another line for 1.25 hours to get my 17'' HP Laptop. Office Depot kept pushing their warranties and support packages. When I got up to the front of the "coupon" line, the same manager once again asked if I had changed my mind on the warranty. I said (once again), I'm not interested in a two year warranty for $80 (down from $100). When he asked me why, I once again explained that Walmart would give me the same warranty for $60. He paused, and then asked if I would take his for 60; I of course smiled and said yes. I'm so glad I took that Social Persuasion class in college many millennium ago. It comes in handy at every turn of the corner. It is addicting; I can't help myself. Even in the face of Black Friday bottom basement deals, I still need to bring the retailers to their knees.I then went down to Staples and picked up a wonderful leather chair for my computer desk (at 50% off). I returned home at 9am and made myself a nice warm second breakfast. God I love to get a bargain!!!!

My wife and I ventured out this afternoon. It isn't so bad if you go a bit later.

I have no desire to go to those things, the thing I have with crowds pretty much guarantees I would not be in good spirits during such madness. There were people fricken camping out at our wor$t buy last night... WHY??? So, I worked. The commute in was much nicer than the average workday, very light traffic. All the morons were off the road so no wrecks.

Yeah, I'm on a mom's forum, and one of the moms said that the toysrus here opened at midnight, and by the time she got there, there was already a line going around the building and out on the street...crazy! I'd rather pay full price than go through that hahaaa

I feel so bad for those who work in retail... Especially how the stores are opening at an even more ridiculous hour every year.

If not, I won't go. btw....I have stayed home for the last 2 years and I don't miss it at all.

i had to work. it sucked. luckily i didn't have to be there at 4am when the store opened. i got to show up at 4pm. when i got there my department already did 34k in sales. that's just insane, we normally do 8k on the normal weekend rush. my sister and mom went early morning shopping and they said they saw fight fights. i forget which store they were at, but dang! is saving $$ that important? i save a ton of money, don't celebrate!

I was in line prior to 5 am on Thanksgiving morning to get a $50 gift card with purchase of Ipod. My wife went to Michael's for 5 pm on Tday, and then to an outlet mall that stores opened at midnight. My oldest daughter and myself went to JCPenneys for 4 am, then in line at Staples for 6 am, then to Kmart, breakfast for free at Sams Club, in line at ArtVan for free snuggly at 8 am, then TSC, Meijer, and Family Farm and Home. Staples was great. They handed out slips for the key items, had everything laid out in store, had put down blue tape to indicate line, etc. I spent $400 and was out of store in 11 minutes.

I don't think "braved" would be accurate. I got out of bed at the crack of 10am and casually cruised over to Rural King to buy this: That was the extent of my Black Friday experience.PlatinumVibe08
