http://www.post-gazette.com/pg...0.stmPolice: Man kills puppy misbehaving before Steelers gameMonday, November 23, 2009By Jim McKinnon, Pittsburgh Post-GazetteA Bridgeville man told police he killed his girlfriend's puppy yesterday afternoon because the animal would not behave before the Steelers football game broadcast.William Woodson, 22, is being held on $25,000 bail in the Allegheny County Jail, pending a preliminary hearing on animal cruelty at 1 p.m. next Monday before District Judge Elaine McGraw in Bridgeville. The puppy, a 13-week-old pit bull named Flip, had been the focal point of recent arguments between Mr. Woodson and his girlfriend, Christine Gielarowski, 21, with whom Mr. Woodson lives on Jane Way.Ms. Gielarowski still may face charges after she gave police a false name and address, then refused to identify her boyfriend as the suspect, officials said.A witness called Bridgeville police at 1:09 p.m. after a suspect, who was supposed to have been walking the dog, was kicking it down the street instead, according to a police affidavit.Ms. Gielarowski told police her boyfriend kicked the dog because the pup would not walk with them. When the near lifeless dog no longer was able to move, Mr. Woodson walked away from it and his girlfriend, she told police. The witness called police after he found the animal lying limp and dying in the 100 block of Union Street. By the time police arrived, the dog was dead and Mr. Woodson was gone. After Ms. Gielarowski gave police her real name, officers contacted her parents and learned Mr. Woodson's name.Police were told the suspect was at a friend's residence. Police called the friend, who put Mr. Woodson on the phone, but the suspect refused to surrender.Police went to the residence and apprehended the suspect as he was leaving out the back door, the affidavit said.Mr. Woodson declined to acknowledge the reading of his rights as he was arrested. However, waiting in the cruiser at the police station, he spoke, unsolicited, with one of the officers.According to the affidavit, Mr. Woodson said he argued with Ms. Gielarowski about buying the dog to live at their residence."He admitted the dog would not behave prior to the Steelers game and that he became upset at it," according to the affidavit

People like that should be severely punished.

Animal cruelty is something that truly brings tears to my eyes. How people can be so cruel to something that loves them, looks up to them, just wants love in return, is just unbelievable. This may sound horrible, but I honestly get more upset over animal cruelty than if someone had done this to a person. The reason being is that the animal can't speak, can't defend itself, and depends on the human for so much. Its just disgusting. People who do these things should be in jail for a very long time.

Throw him in a large cage with a few full grown, very angry, pit-bulls!!!That's a little more eye-for-an-eye!

I just don't understand how anybody could be so cruel to something that loves you NO MATTER WHAT.

I feel bad after scold my dog for doing something bad. It wears on me and then I smother my dog with affection. How could someone be such a soul-less (removed) and do something like that. Even though it made me cringe, I'm going with HPL on this one!!

I almost wish this guy would re-produce, so I could kick his kid down the street for crying...

My dog hasn't let me watch a Steelers game in peace for nine years! Get your (removed) off that couch and let's play ball. All kidding aside, I hate people who mistreat animals and children. Both are innocent, both just want our love, and both look to us for care.

there was a link found to pregnant mothers being alcoholics and those children not having any regret or..dang cant find the word... but they do stuff like this AND the school shootings..actually the study said all those school shooting kids moms were alcoholics during pregnancy. Its disgusting, I threw a ball to my dog and hit her by accident and felt really bad I cant imaging physically abusing a dog to death thats jacked up.
